Art has played an important part in my life. I began painting in oils when I left school and studied at Chiswick College. Later I saw a demonstration of watercolour painting and was hooked.
When I moved to the area I set up a successful art group in Potton and also ran an art club for children.
I progressed into teaching art in the community at Biggleswade, Sandy, and Samuel Whitbread Community Colleges. I have also run courses in day centres for the elderly and adults with learning difficulties. Latterly I taught at Barnfield College where I continued my training as an adult community tutor before returning once more to teach locally in Biggleswade, Potton and Gransden.
When I retired from teaching in the community I set up my studio here in Gamlingay in order to share my love of painting with small groups of students and help them explore their own
potential as artists.
I continue to work as an artist and accept occasional commissions – please see my gallery for more information. My first exhibition in 1982 was very well received and since then I have exhibited at Syon House and Stevenage Leisure Centre. More recently I have exhibited locally in Potton and at the Eco Hub in Gamlingay. Future projects will include work with an African theme.
